PCB – An Example of Indiscriminate Decision Making

Players like Umar Akmal are the future of Pak cricket. Stars like Younis and Yousuf have always given their best for the team’s cause. Somehow the Pak team aren’t professional like their Aussie counterparts so haven’t finished the job of converting a session into an easy win.
This isn’t the first time the PCB has acted indiscriminately. Take the example where some players were arrested for drug use before the IPL. Let us also look at the incident when Mr. Asif was banned for infighting with Shoaib Akthar and also for testing positive before the IPL. The whole world knows that Mohamed Asif is a player who gives his best and performed superb spells for Pak against Sri Lanka, India and Australia. The PCB makes him a scapegoat for anything and everything. It seems like he’s not aggressive in chasing the PCB and takes everything lying down.
It is very unfortunate to see the PCBs stand against the cog of the players team. The PCB should simply institute a committee to oversee performance and ensure players are managing well as a team and delivering when it matters most. Simply blaming innocent players for disciplinary actions is not justified at all.
Perhaps a superpower should now place all councils under its administration. This act of the PCB is similar to the state government calling for a national emergency. The PCB should be mediated by a higher authority and such indiscriminate acts by governing bodies like the PCB should also be watched for corruption.
