How Much Do College Umpires Make?
Fees for college referees vary widely depending on the level and location of the game. At the highest level, NCAA Division I, a team of three-man referees will cover a series with meals and lodging paid and mileage reimbursed. In addition, each crew member will receive compensation between $150 and $350 per day. For example, if the crew works a single nine-inning game, the pay might be $150. If the crew works two seven-inning games, the salary can be $250.
NAIA generally pays less than junior college. For junior college games, pay is around $100 for a single nine-inning game and around $150 for two seven-inning games. Mileage is generally not paid to juco referees.
