People love to be active, whether it’s jumping in their backyard or snowboarding down an incredible hill on a sunny Sunday afternoon. It gives them interest whether alone or with other people and keeps your body healthy. So what are two energetic hobbies that are beneficial to your physical and emotional well-being?
1. sport:
Playing a sport is great for your fitness, competition and socialization, whether it’s a big team sport like rugby or netball or more of an individual sport like tennis or squash. There are many sports to choose from, as you have seen in the Summer and Winter Olympics. The choice will be limited by what is available where you live and of course your interest in big team sports or more individual type sports. Let’s take golf as an example. You can play this game competitively for yourself or you can join others and be part of a team, for example four players. It’s a great sport to get outside and get some fresh air, play an 18-hole course with a group of friends, and then chat afterwards in the club rooms. You can also have a great time browsing the many golf courses around the world. Nothing like a round of tropical golf in the sun!!
2. To exercise:
How is a dance class followed by a sudoku? These are two ways to exercise your body. The former exercises your muscles and helps with your fitness and the latter exercises your brain and helps stimulate the mind. Exercise is important as part of your overall health and emotional well-being.
People feel great after exercise and find it helps with overall energy levels. There are many ways to exercise: doing housework, walking or running around the block, doing weight training and aerobics in the gym, and any form of dance and sport.
People also feel fantastic and have a sense of accomplishment when they complete a puzzle, like in sudoku. There are also various other ways to stimulate the mind, including playing memory games with children. It’s good to relax in the bath or in bed with a puzzle or two as an alternative to reading a novel. And what better than a session of physical exercise followed by a session of mental exercise?
So here it is, the choice is yours. All you have to do is pick a sport, get fit, and then play mind games to benefit your mind.
